How to participate - the basics
1. Attend or view a training event. You can check out our events page to find an event near you, or get trained virtually by viewing our online training video.
2. Create an account on Bumble Bee Watch. This is the site where you will submit your data.
3. Adopt a grid cell. We have divided the the Southeast into 276 grid cells in order to spread out our efforts. View grid cells and submit an adoption form on our grid cell adoption page.
4. Plan your survey. You can find resources, including equipment links, data sheets, additional training videos, identification help, and permitting information on our resources page.
5. Conduct at least two surveys within your adopted cell during the 2023 field season (May 15 - September 30). You can conduct your survey anywhere you have permission!
6. Submit your data to Bumble Bee Watch.
7. You're done! Thank you for making a hands-on contribution to bumble bee conservation in the Southeast!
